Each year, 12 participants from across Europe attend the World Finals (ISSDC) at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA.
Will you be one of them?
Register & find out.
National Competition
The National Finals in 2022-2023 will be held in various European countries, each with the opportunity to represent the EUSDC at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida.
Teams are organised into companies of up to 50 students who will go head to head to design a space settlement according to a Request for Proposal (RFP). You will then present your proposal in the form of a presentation to an expert team of judges from academia and industry.
European Final (EUSDC)
The SDC year culminates in the European Finals, the EUSDC. All successful National Competition entrants qualify to this competition.
Each year, 12 members of the European SDC community qualify onwards to NASA's World Final: the International Space Settlement Design Competition in July/August. Teams are organised like the National Competition, with each team consisting of participants from across the continent.
The aim of the Space Science Engineering & Environmental Foundation is to increase engagement in science and engineering for as many students as possible, using space as a vehicle for learning.
We would like to welcome as many schools as possible to the European Space Design Competition. Each listed National Finals includes information specific to that event. Some venues will have a larger capacity than others and may run in a different format (e.g. Digital vs. Onsite).
We require full information about your team’s supervising adult if you are attending a physical competition. It is essential that you provide us with a contact email and telephone number for your accompanying adult.
